What are the appeals courts?

Appellate courts review the judgment of a trial court to make sure that the proper procedures were followed and the proper law was applied.

Hall & Evans’ offices are located just a short walk from the Byron White U.S. Courthouse in Denver, where the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit is located.

The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals handles appeals from the eight U.S. district courts located in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming. The federal system also includes 12 additional circuit courts of appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court.

At the state level, Hall & Evans has participated in more civil appeals before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court than any other Colorado law firm. The firm also represents clients before the state appeals courts in other states.
